These lights, even for being 28w, are very very powerful. There is NO Cons about these lights. I put these bulbs in a Clamp Lighting system to help reflect more light to cover more area with it. Lets just say, my plants were probably a month old, wasn't doing much growing in my west window where there is no light at all or next to none. As soon as I plugged in my clamp lights, installed these bulbs, just within a few hours, my seedlings perked up so quick it was amazing. After a week, they grew about 2x as big as they were, within 2 weeks (Which would be this last saturday) they have grown trifold. Put then about 4 inches away from the tallest seedling to help with better rooting so the seedlings won 't concentrate on getting taller, after a few weeks raise a few inches or so, let the plants focus on growing a little taller. Once the seedlings get their second set of leaves, work on Harden Off your plants outside and get another set started. I would recommended these to anyone. 28w is powerful for such a small bulb.Read full review

The lights work and arrived promptly. However, they are really small. I’m disappointed with my purchase and should’ve looked into the size more. The lights won’t be nearly as powerful as I will need them to be. The size isn’t mentioned and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone unless you have 1-2 plants to grow. I have 72.

These bulbs are small is size so I was a bit skeptical at first, but they put out a lot of usable light for my freshwater aquarium plants (swords, anubias, dwarf sag, hygro, ludwigia, rotala, staurogyne, java moss, java fern, crypts, jungle val, etc). I have 4 of them hanging in pendant lights over my 55gal aquarium and they really penetrate to the bottom of the 21" tall tank. Each bulb is about 8-9" above the surface of the water once installed inside the pendant shrouds, with about a 30deg spread, so there is plenty of overlap and glass reflection and plants get light from all sides. With a little bit of surface agitation from my powerhead, I get a very nice light-rippling effect inside the tank. The hue is a bit purple-ish with the mix of blues, reds, and the UV bulbs... but already I have new growth and pearling on many of my stem plants and some have started to show a lot of pinks and reds that were previously a plain green when grown under "daylight" CFLs. Fish colors really pop as well... any fish with reds or blues in them are intensified. I plan to buy more for my other aquarium. I don't have pics right now, but I'll try to add some later.Read full review

I have one of these suspended ~20" over about 6 houseplants for supplemental light and they've gotten a deeper green and really seem to be responding to the LEDs. More so than the 60w CFL that I was using, and much less energy! Can't speak yet for how long the LEDs will last, but I imagine these are going to be well worth the money I spent on them.
