About this product

Product Information

In Pokémon X, Nintendo's massively successful creature breeding and battling franchise returns with a new species of starter Pokémon, new mega evolution, improved connectivity, and for the first time in the series, full 3D graphics. As always, players take on the role of a young battle trainer who goes on quests to catch and train Pokémon, then engage in turn-based battles with other trainers to upgrade and evolve their Pokémon. The new adventure is set in the France-like Kalos region, with the ultimate goal of obtaining the eight Kalos Gym Badges and defeating the Elite Four.

Gamers begin by choosing from three starter Pokémon, but they can rapidly access dozens more through trainer battles, random wilderness encounters, or trades with friends. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y both offer a unique new Legendary Pokémon, while the new mega evolution feature lets high-level Pokémon briefly evolve into the extremely powerful Mega form. Players can help build up their Pokémon's stats through practice battles in the new Super Training mode, and the new Pokémon-amie feature lets them increase their bond with the Pokémon by using the stylus and touch screen to pet, scratch, and play with the creatures.

In addition to the classic turn-based battles, Pokémon X offers new Horde Battles, which pit one Pokémon against multiples foes, and new Sky Battles, in which only flying Pokémon can participate. Multiplayer content remains a key part of the franchise, with the new Player Search System (PSS) letting gamers connect to the Internet and find friends all around the world. The PSS allows for friendly battles, ranked battles, message sharing, and a variety of different trades, including the new Wonder Trade feature, which instantly executes blind trades between two random players.

<! -- 3DS -- >

One of the Best Pokemon Games

First Pokemon games I played were Switch games. I expected 3DS games to be less advanced and not as interesting. They turned out to be the opposite: the gameplay is so exciting, I cannot put the console down. Pokemon X is among the best. Yes, graphics are no Switch, but they are still really, really good. Yes, the game mechanics are older, and some things we take for granted in Switch are hard to get in here. You are not showered with pokeballs, money, rare candy and instant travel right from the start. You have to work hard for them. But it makes things so much more precious, and to me that's actually one of the appeals of the older games. There is a lot of content: Kalos region is really big, and after you get new abilities, you also want to revisit the places you've been before. ...

    Not very good

I have played a few Pokémon, and I found this one boring and frustrating. I couldn't stand that I couldn't remove those stupid roller skates, so it made movement difficult at times. The story really didn't move well IMO. I didn't play for long at a time because it didn't engage my interest. All in all I don't recommend.

  • Pokémon x and y

I bought both for $65 a little high but they were mint and a pair I couldn’t be happier I like these better than sun and moon it is a bit odd how even with the d pad it’s 8 way controls but it’s super easy to get used to plus “spoiler alert” once you get the skates it switches from 8 way controls to normal d pad controls super fun game “spoiler alert” you get kanto starters early in the game after the getting a choice between the x and y starters!!! Such an awesome addition!! Overall great game with strong and cool legendaries and so on can’t recommend more especially considering the low prices compared to other Pokémon games

  • Pokémon X

If you’re looking for a compelling, fun, creative and aesthetically pleasing game that people of any age can get into, then here you go. You can do a quick “casual” play through the game just to enjoy the story and characters, or, if you love collecting, breeding, training, manipulating the battle stats of your individual creatures down to the smallest detail… then there’s that whole realm of Pokémon to get into as well. As of now it is 2021 and X and Y are no longer the most recent entries in the series but all Pokémon games have proven that they can stand the test of time just by the sheer fun of the gameplay formula. These graphics and online features aren’t going to impress anyone used to playing Pokémon on the Nintendo Switch, but they were great for the series when they came out and ...

  • Pokemon continues strong on handhelds.

I'm still uncertain whether or not this is the best Pokemon release since Gold/Silver/Crystal. Though I'm not sure of that particular case, I'm sure this title follows everything Pokemon has been doing right since release. Of course we all know what happens here, a new map, you start with some Pokemon you got from the local professor, start fighting your way through the map stopping by cities to earn the badge from the gym leaders; eight of them are to be found. When you finally have all badge you head for the Pokemon League and climb your way past the elite four to challenge the champion, if you win you're the new Pokemon Master and happy ending. Sure that's the formula, but doesn't it work still? With the incredibly deep meta-game surrounding all of it ...
