I went to the National Zoo in Washington, DC, with a friend of mine in June 2008. This trip was prompted by my watching of the ferret cam at: http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/NorthAmerica/default.cfm?cam=BFF I love animals, so I LOVED the zoo. Of course, while we were there, we browsed many of the souvenir shops and I saw this book in a few of the different ones. However, I didn't want to pay $12 for such a small book. When I got home out of curiosity, I looked for it online. When I found it on eBay at such a low price, I couldn't pass it up! I got one for both me and the friend I went to the zoo with. It's such a cute little book chronicling Tai Shan growing up! It starts at birth and goes through until he is a grown panda playing in the snow. This would be a wonderful book for children, too, as there are many photos and (I don't think) the words aren't hard to read. Overall, if you are a fan of pandas, the DC zoo or you just like all animals, this is a really nice, cute little book to have in your collection!Read full review
Captures the magic of giant panda birth and rearing, in easy to read aloud, adorable format. Kids of all ages will ooh and ah, and play endlessly with the flip book cleverly included. For Panda lovers, especially Tai Shan watchers, well worth the price.
