how to make a animal horror movie without science and aliens

this movie was very simple which makes it good. so many animal movies where they are enhanced in some way and not needed. this was about surviving a killer animal and not about someone finding themselves or fixing there relationship and such. honestly has many things that made jaws what it is.... though jaws is better. one of very few things i didn't like was someone who should have died but didn't... mainly cause this person has to live cause people want to feel good and equal (that will make since after movie is over and if you enjoy watching horror movies so you can tell who will live regardless who they are). how this person was attacked and how long it was before they were helped, should have been dead (no spoilers). if had bigger budget think i would have like to seen in theaters.

  • Very well made Australian Film That Has a Big BITE!

From the same director of Wolf Creek, Greg McClean, took this film to its high points and makes something so simple like an Australian Water Scenic Tour into a living nightmare. This film really says something about the destructive forces of nature and the pecking order of creatures in the food chain. Not being that fond of crocodiles, I was really intrigued to witness such an unfortunate turn of event when it came to the maneater himself. Radha Mitchell and Michael Vartan deliver bone chilling acting with as believable people and victims having only one thing in common, SURVIVAL. The film introduces us to a 25 crocodile that is slowly trying to pick off its victims 1 by 1. The ending was pretty interesting fighting the crocodile. I'll give this film a 4/5 for the ...

  • Very intense...Well worth a look...#1 killer croc film

As far as crocodile films go, this is in my opinion the best one (Black Water coming in 2nd and Lake Placid in 3rd). I won't get into any details about the movie because that can be found elsewhere (IMDb). There are some pretty intense parts and it definitely keeps your interest the entire movie. It's fairly short ending at about the 95 minute mark. It kinda seemed like it took a while to get going but once it does it's worth the wait. The croc stays pretty much hidden until about the last 10-15 minutes when you finally get to see it in full form, looks and sounds very realistic as it is CGI. According to the filmmakers it's about 7 meters long (about 23 feet), and there have been known sightings of crocs bigger than 25 feet, so a croc like the one in Rogue most ...

  • Excellent disaster movie --- believe it or not!

I can't believe I'm giving a five-star rating to a film about a killer crocodile. But ROGUE, like JAWS, is a cut above your typical low-budget animal attack movie. First, it's more of a disaster film than horror. An Australian tour boat breaks down on a tiny island that happens to be the territory of a giant crocodile. Aside from the fact that the crocodile is larger than usual, it doesn't have any mutant super powers. Neither do the stranded tourists. The crocodile has brute strength and hunger; the humans have their intelligence and the will to survive. The humans are different ages and have different personalities. No cookie-cutter college students with questionable acting ability in this movie! Nobody displays typical horror movie stupidity by going off alone, ...

  • Had a lot of potential, but it couldn't follow through

When I saw that this movie was directed by the director of Wolf Creek, I was immediately interested, and bought this movie the first chance I got. This movie had all the right elements, a good cast, good story, dark waters, big alligator, all the effects to make an awesome horror movie. I'll admit it had some thrills but wasn't consistent throughout the whole show. There was some moments where I was on the edge of my seat, and others when I was falling asleep. If you're going to see this movie, just already know that it's going to be an average movie, and then it won't disappoint you!
