A leader and his legacy
It's not often that you find an objective account of Castro or what happened in Cuba. This documentary also contains rare footage of Castro's youth and of his several visits to the US and the Soviet Union. A considerable number of key figures are interviewed throughout the film, people who knew him at one time or another, including former members of Castro's government, American diplomats, journalists and scholars specializing in foreign affairs and the social sciences. I find it a useful educational tool, since it provides an impartial and informative vision of contemporary history in easy to follow chronological sequence.It's not often that you find an objective account of Castro or what happened in Cuba. Castro the revolutionary communist. I'm still trying to figure out how he survived the Bay of Pigs fiasco and assassination attempts.

PBS American Experience - Fidel Castro
Gave me inside information of Castro's developing years from a media darling to an assassin/human rights violator. Since so much has happened since the DVD's ending, I am hoping for a sequel/update NOW! Great learning/teaching tool for those interested in social studies, geography and most of all, History.
