About this product

Product Information

The Korg DS-10 Synthesizer turns the DS into a mini music studio and lets aspiring beat-makers use the touch screen to create their own unique songs. Players can choose from preset templates or create their own synth and drum lines by using the onscreen keyboard, drum pads, and 16-step sequencer. Amateur audiophiles can also add custom modulations to tracks in real-time and post-production options include a full-featured mixer, pattern chaining, and multiple effects for added polish. Wireless gamers can link as many as eight DS units together for multiplayer ensemble performances in which each game acts as a single instrument, and players can also exchange songs and session data with one another.

  • KORG DS-10 is great for music enthusiasts!!

KORG DS-10, a game for the Nintendo DS, is a great title that emulates a synthesizer from the renowned Japanese company KORG. With the stylus in hand the player can create up to 18 sessions on a very realistic synthesizer, complete with an eight-octave keyboard, a KAOSS pad, and numerous fine-tuning knobs, sliders, and switches. The amount of options is almost overwhelming, but a dedicated composer can churn out music with great quality sound. Additionally, multiple systems can be linked wirelessly to create orchestral sounds. KORG DS-10 is not so much a video game as it is music creating software. There are no colorful graphics, fast action or cartoony characters. Instead, it presents a functional interface tailor-made for the DS. Those who are not ready to create music with a ...

  • Superior synth - small package

If you have a Nintendo DS (or DSi) and are a synth fan then you need to buy this product. Forget about the Kaossilator - this is a great toy that has some excellent filters and features - and most of all....will keep you amused (or bemused) for hours. Being a long term owner of various Korg synths, this has provided me with both frustration and fun! Frustration in that it is so good you want it to do more (which of course it can't) and fun in that you can get some pretty fantastic sounds (and sequences) out of it. It really is Kraftwerk on a DS so be prepared to tap in those synth lines for hours on end. It will be interesting to see how the plus version fares in comparison to this - currently unavailable in the UK it promises to significantly extend the capabilities of the original ...

  • FL -competitive package in mobile and low learning curve environment (DS)!!

if you are looking at this then you know what a software synth is, and, should know--what Fruity Loops is. (whether you like it or not) This is easily the match of the basic FL package. Its got synths, FX, and drum synths and more!! All cntrollable in the familiar ways as well as with the (hence the reference to FL) "piano roll" type grid/step sequencer means. I cannot stress how MUCH this is worth the 10-20$ youll pay for it. I got this and the DS and have no intention of ever separating the two. Its a GREAT way to travel or make simple beats and sketches on the go. I have no idea what it would sound like on decent monitors, but I suspect it would be competitive with other similar (nanoloop, etc) products so it could easily reward live use or studio use if you prefered the sound or ...

  • Great service and communication

I bought the DS-10 as I have been a longtime fan of analog synthesizers, and yet I don't have room for a full keyboard. You can't get smaller than this, and yet it provides lot of the functionality and sound of an authentic late 70's era synth- with only the user interface being a world different. There are some limitations to this as obviously you're not playing a "piano" keyboards per se, but with the dual oscillators and built in drum machine/ sequencer, there's many things that can be accomplished. Its portability also makes it a no-brainer for carrying it around on a train or bus commute, or to doodle during your lunch hour. Now if I can just pry the DS away from my daughter (she owns the DS, I have the software) long enough to get some quality time with the DS-10, all will be right ...
