I love how easy this scanner was to set up. Overall, the picture quality is very good. I had previously been scanning my kids' artwork with my Epson 4-in-1 unit. When I decided to start scanning in some old family pictures, I researched and found this scanner to have good reviews. I tried it first on some artwork, since that's what I was used to, and was blown away by how beautiful and bright all of the art scans were. Then I tried some old photos, including black and whites. When scanned on the highest resolution (1200), the black and whites were actually MORE clear than the originals. The auto color correct applies a coolness over the sepia toned black and whites or red-toned color pictures and kind of sort of makes it look like it (maybe) used to. Some pictures almost took on a very slight blue cast, even without color correct, but these were mostly pictures that had poor white balance to start with. From my experience, you need to scan at least at 600 for good results, though the highter the resolution, the slower scanning is. If he pictures are small, though, you can put multiple on the screen and the scanner will automatically separate them most of the time. Sometimes it crops them inappropriately, and they need to be re-scanned. Aggravating, but not a deal breaker.Read full review

Here are a few things you may want to include in your product review: - Why you bought it: It was the least expensive scanner I could find that had the qualities that I needed. I wasn't looking for the least expensive when I was looking. I shopped "BEST" electronic store and they only had one flatbed scanner in the whole store on display (much to big). I wanted something small footprint, FLATBED so I don't distort documents and photos, Windows 7 compatible. The Epson Perfection V37 filled the bill. - What you like most about it: Easy to use, works well with various photo software, has great OCR capabilities, is low profile and works great. - What you dislike about it: I like everything about it, except I didn't research and get the next step up that would scan negatives and slides, But I wasn't really looking for that capability when I was shopping. - Whether or not you would buy the product again: I had a perfectly good HP scanner before I bought this one, and it worked perfectly well until I upgraded to Windows 7 and HP didn't support the needed drivers - Shame shame on HP. I would diffinitely buy this Epson Perfection V37 Digital Photo Scanner again. Thank you very much. Gary HendersonRead full review
I use this to scan my watercolor paintings and it does a great job. The colors are beautiful and it scans clear. I love the feature that allows you to stitch a larger painting than the scanner bed. I was skeptical until I tried it and it stitched my painting together perfectly.

If you are in need of a good photo scanner that is quick, has decent software, is easy installed and recognized by Win 10, and is affordable, then this is for you. Not the fastest, not the smallest, not the best software, but really good for the price.
