The Orbi AC3000 RBK50 system can be a little on the pricey side but good deals are available. My system has the router and 1 satellite; advertised as 5,000sq/ft coverage. The stability of the system is excellent. Purchased in December 2017. No glitches at all so far. Setup was easy. Setup guides are clearly written and easy to understand. "How to" videos abound on YouTube and from Netgear. Great coverage throughout my house (two stories 2300sq/ft) for all my wireless devices. ZERO dead spots. Performance is Fast and Stable. If you need more than 3 hard wire connections, get a 10/100/1000 4 or 8 port switch and problem solved.

It has very strong signal evenly around the whole house. The price of this kind of mesh router is much more expensive than a single unit router but a single piece router hardly can make the signal that evenly strong in every spots. The bad thing I experienced is the wired connection randomly malfunctioned and need to be troubleshoot to make it work again. I am not a technical guy so I can't tell if I got a lemon or this is the router's problem. If you don't mind your green and concern very much of the strong wifi signal. This would be a good deal.

After reading several reviews and some inconsistencies that occur at times with connections some reviewers mentioned. I created a second network from a tutorial I found on line. Once you program the main router it flows to the satellites automatically. Depending on distance and if you selected the daisy chain option, orbi will either do a daisy or spoke wheel connection from router to satellites. Note: when using the daisy chain option in set up I did have issues with the internet of the ethernet. However the connection was very reliable that I now use my gaming consoles wirelessly and no issues with 20 devices running two of them xboxes simultaneously. Again this is after I created the second network that is not in the main menu. If you do not use the daisy chain feature, router acts as a bridge and ethernet works well on satellite. I forgot to mention I also had issues using the one network default setup prior to reconfiguring the two networks. Read full review

I recently purchased the Netgear ORBI RBK50 refurbished satellite system as I was in need of a new router. I was a bit skeptical of it being refurbished but honestly it looked brand new when I opened the box. It was easy to setup and there were no issues or surprises with adding the satellite that comes with. The router and satellite were clearly marked so you couldn't confuse which was which. It recommends that you install an app on your phone and configure things that way. If you're like me and don't care for that option you can bypass that and still use a web interface to get up and running. My only complaint is that it doesn't offer the option to use a wired connection to provide a better satellite connection but that has nothing to do with this purchase.

Our cable/router is on the second floor and we have always struggled to get good reception downstairs and outside on the deck. I've went through many routers like the Nighthawk R7000 and a few others but still ran into dead spots and poor reception. After purchasing and setting up ORBI I can say that this is no longer the case. We set up the satellite on the first floor and now I get 150Mbps (which is our cable speed max) everywhere inlcuding outside in the yard. The true connection speed in most places is between 500 and 650Mbps. This is the only unit you need if you are looking for flawless reception at the fastest speed possible.
