First of all, you can't beat the price of a filter of this size and capacity. It runs super quiet and really easy to set up. To get it primed and running is as simple as filling up both hoses with tank water in the convenient openings on top of them and then plugging in the filter. Working the settings on LCD display is pretty self explanatory and simple as well. All this being said, I really wish mine would have came with additional sponges for each stage of filtration and some media, but I really can't complain, specially for the price I paid. The UV light is a nice feature because of the fact that it gives me an option to turn it off or to have it on for a specific amount of hours. I leave it off for the most part due to the fact that the UV light can deteriorate the plastic trays and or any plastic that is exposed to the light. Like I said, it's nice to have the option to use it or not. I would buy one of these for each of my big tanks anywhere from 50 to 150 gallons. Another great feature is the the actual motor of the filter is adjustable, which means you can control how hard the water flows by controlling how much power the motor puts out. It's all on the LCD screen menu.Read full review

I have multiple Sunsun filters so when I saw this. I had to get it. Setting this filter up I removed all but one of the filter pads and added bio media from one of my other filters . Had all set up according to the directions and put it on my 125, turned it on, made sure all the air was removed, turned up to full power, and there's no "umph" in the flow. I ended up taking it off the 125 and putting it on my 90gal I just rearranged. Still, poor flow. I'm going to let it run, clean it, replace the pad, and see if anything improves. Had to remove the clamps that secure the suction and output to the tank. It appears they were made for tanks with no plastic rim around it. So, design and concept are good. Flow and power, not all that great. Will wait and see.

I put this on my 60 gallon Goldfish/Koi tank and it works great, I've got 6 good sized fish in this tank and this filter has made the water quality easily manageable. It's quite and the flow rate is adjustable and the built in UV light is an awesome bonus in case I ever have an algae bloom. It keeps the water crystal clear for my very messy fish.

I have an aquarium with Kois and goldfish. As anyone knows that these fish are very dirty fish...waste, ammonia, and other by products. I had two canister filters and an HOB filter and still had to change the filter about ever two weeks and 1/3 amount of water every week for a 75-gallon aquarium. Since adding the SunSun HW-3000 I have had it hooked up and running for about three or four weeks now and have yet to change the filter and the water tests show perfect water and have no more cloudy water. Therefore, if you have fish that are considered dirty I would recommend this filter. Even if you don't have dirty fish, I would still recommend. I am currently looking for sales to purchase at least 4 more.

I love this one the best because it has adjustability in the flow rate & the UV light, I use it on my 55 gal, 208 Liter SeaHorse tank on the lowest setting, & for a deep clean I can turn it all the way up
