Awesome, gripping story of one man's struggle with being a half-blood, derided by both races and wandering in a world of constant horrors and loss of identity. As his recovery from PTSD advances, the protagonist finds his unique gifts of being are revealed and developed . A number of interactions between this world and the spirit world occur as he is lead to a place of decision. He slowly realizes that his very life is pivotal in the primal struggle itself of good vs evil in our world.

Ceremony is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. Though it can be confusing for someone used to linear time (events happen in order, one right after the other), the reader will get used to the fluid time line pretty soon. Just be aware that it's there. The writing is so poetic that the story seems fragile. Essentially, it is in my top 5 favorite books, and I'm very well-read.
Cheap enough, I guess. :P I still need to read before to....morrow? Maybe? Yeah. I better get on that rather than wasting more time on this review. Hm, and I'm HUN-GRY! ';' Ah, I'll never get everything done. Nice item though, I'm sure. Might buy from again; I'm really into old-school looking hardcover books though. Do you have any? With gilded pages, maybe? Those are nice... Welp! I'm off to read and eat and sleep before class tomorrow! -kthxbye
I love the book. I originally bought it for a class but decided to read it on my own when I decided not to take the class anymore. I enjoyed the wonderful symbolism and use of words. Overall, its just a great book! WONDERFUL read!!
Excellent novel. A must read. Great depiction of the contrast between the Native American culture and that of white America. Very vivid and sensual.
