I bought this book so I could take a math boot camp for my PhD program. This book is longer than alternative books, but I found that it was much easier to read and yet contained the same information. If have looked at three books now that teach about optimization, and this is by far the most approachable and appears to be complete.
I bought this book because it was on the reading list for my doctoral program. The book is very thorough and comprehensive, and good for review of the mathematics used in economics. However, it is not the most intuitive book, and probably would be difficult to follow for those with limited knwoledge of calculus/linear algebra.
It is a great book for economists, one that will be used many times in doctoral studies and research. I bought it because it was required for a class, but plan to keep it after I finish my studies because it contains all the necessary lessons on understanding the math involved in economics.
Extremely will written and easy to understand. Step by step guidance offered from the first page to the end

Tersely written, but even with a mediocre math background, you can follow. International edition is identical to US version, save for the cover.
