I love this textbook so much. It has the engaging material and thought provoking perspectives of books meant to inspire a lifestyle change. Books like "The Haiku Handbook" are similar in excellence, but this has a more academic, analytical approach--if you so choose to use the additional features it provides. The literature it showcases ranges from classical to contemporary and nontraditional. I adore the variety it offers and the way it can sway you to look through the eyes of another reader. There are tips for writing, reading, and comprehending literature, including poetry, essays, books, and more. I recommend this book to anyone struggling with English class, AP English in particular. If you're a writer or reader of any kind, it's an excellent resource. Five stars for this textbook that I couldn't help but purchase before I was forced to give it back to school. Beware of the incredibly heavy, dense nature of this book, though; it adds at least two lbs. to anyone's bookbag... But let me reiterate this: it is worth its weight in gold. Read full review
