Worked with modifications
The points themselves were just fine. The problem I had was with the backing plate. Both of those were for the right cylinder. As such they would not mesh together properly so they could be used as received. I wound up having to use the old backing plate for the left cylinder. The plates were the biggest reason I bought these instead of points only with would have been $10 cheaper. It worked out for me because the old plate wasn't broken, but otherwise would not have allowed me to complete the whole jobThe points themselves were just fine. NOT A GOOD REPLACEMENT
The problem with this is the fact that it's 2 right handed contact points. Yamaha's dual points from the factory is a left handed and right handed set of contact points. The left handed set fits over the right handed set so they mount flush with the stater housing. Since both sets of points are right handed , they do not fit flush with each other. I had to use my old base plate from the left set and swap over the actual points themselves from the new ones in order to make this work!....DO NOT BUY THESE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SWAP THE CONTACT POINTS OVER!!The problem with this is the fact that it's 2 right handed contact points.
