The reviews authored by others that claim this projector produces a great image are spot on. After ten years of projector use in my home theater, I can tell you that for the price, you really can't beat this projector. However, one caveat...noise, which is not unexpected in a DLP unit. Between the color wheel and cooling system, expect about 35-36db (by my meter) in Econo mode. That is truly the only complaint I have. The legacy connections are greatly appreciated, the brightness is a major plus and the color depth and blacks are really quite good. I paid $500 for a new in the box old stock unit (2016 manufacture). I had to re-mount my ceiling bracket due to the shorter throw compared to my old projector, and I did have to extend the mount to have the projector down about 10" more from the ceiling. Have yet to try the 3D feature, but its not a priority for home theater any more and not why I chose this one. Price and image quality...bottom line!Read full review

This is the second projector that I purchased. The first one I purchased for the our community center. I liked it so much, that I purchased this second one for my personal use. I love the versatility in mounting and variety of connector ports available. It produces a high quality image, and handles action shots, such as sports events, quite well.

was looking at the epson line of projectors and anything equal in the specs was over $1100 and had some pros and cons. I had read the benq 1070 had better responce to fast moving video and found it to be better than the epson 1020,1030, and to beat the benq's performance i would need to spend about $1400-1500 in the epson line. I have a large space and project my cable -TV onto a wall 23 feet away on a 300inch wall and it is incredible how clear the picture is at this size, a lot of bang for the bucks, and the unit allows for energy saving lamp setting which lower the heat and extend life of the bulb, the fan is not too loud and no halo around the lens. it's nice and compact. The cons the remote doesn't work well at distance, and hard to read with small script. set up fairly straight forward, but wish there was more adjustment on the screen size besides moving the projector forward or back. The sound is kinda tin canish, but if you use a receiver and turn off the sound in the unit you can get great sound from a surround sound and not use the one in the unit at all...would reccomendRead full review
this projector is 1080p like others, gamma, and contract ratio great , but have two important features for cinema fans , lens shift and anamorphic aspect ratio , so you save thousandth dollars in anamorphic lens , cost between 12, 000 , this unit is amazing for 2.35 curved screen
