i wanted a cheap unit for the application, but this seems to be well made and it worked well. Unless you are fairly sharp on electronics i would not recommend the installation by a DIY'er. It works well, but the instructions are somewhat vague and it provides no information as to what wires to attach to on a specific vehicle. If you can read and understand a wiring harness diagram and understand it the circuit works on a ground or hot then you can definitely install it. So my point is get a wiring diagram on the car you intend to install this on. Then determine if the circuit triggers positive or negative before you start hooking this up or you risk blowing a BCM or other module.

Unfortunately, this product cannot operate as a Golf Cart (12 volt) remote security system. I expected that I would be able to use it as an "inline" cut-off switch. The Unlock button, when pressed, does not allow for the continuous flow of 12 volt electric (i.e., the completion of the circuit). I paid to have a Golf Cart professional help me try to install it. He was unsuccessful also. I am very disappointed.

Don’t waste your money. It doesn’t have enough power to do anything on its own, if you used it to power relays then it’s fine but I didn’t want a big mess of wires. So save time and money just get a Viper.
