  • The Art Of Inlay by Larry Robinson (2005)

    This book is actually a rather slim volume, but packed with the most amazing photographs of the very top in quality inlays. While not very detailed about the nitty gritty of inlaying, it is nontheless worth getting for your collection. The author is a master inlay artist, and what I get from the narrative is that while the art of inlaying is perhaps fundimentally a simple thing, it takes much practice. And maybe a change in your eye glasses perscription after a particularly involved project. Like the one he worked on which was actually two commerative guitars for the Martin company. they were inceadible, the pictures don't, I think, do the guitars justice, The author also stresses that the methods he discusses for inlaying don't apply just to musical instruments, but to anything that you ...
