Sound quality and responsiveness doesnt apply to this review, so marked no. It is versatile. You can set it up to your liking. I did buy an xtra drum tube that i cut to add 2 cymbal post caps for cymbals. I found the rack a bit low so i was maxed out on height adjustment. Its a challenge to run wires thru tubes so be sure on where everything goes first. It is very solid! It was a huge upgrade from original TD-3 rack.

The rim shots are not as responsive as expected, even though I trimmed it out through the controller. I do have the Roland TD 6V controller so that may be the issue. Overall not bad but unfortunately for rim shots the PD8 appears to be more responsive.
