I'm new at painting, and this is my first set of gouache so I don't have anything else to compare it to. No complaints here! The colors mix beautifully and just a little bit of paint goes a long way. If Windsor & Newton is supposed to be the gold standard, I'd hate to see how other brands compare.

This is high quality gouache, and the price is right. This set of 5 colors normally goes for over $50.

An excellent, affordable way to start with gouache. PRO:They give true primary colors (Cyan, yellow, magenta) allowing a wide range of mixes. CON: boring purples, and mixing large batches of browns will drain you tubes. While there are better (and more expensive) brands, I think this is the best way to test if gouache is something you want to invest in. TIPS: Get more white. Your white will be gone before any other tube hits even 75%.

The white tube was a little dry and the red tube was opened and made a mess inside the box. :( But they paint really well.
