I'm trying this Telezapper out. It wasn't expensive, so if it doesn't work, it won't be a huge loss. The concept of it is targeted at Robocalls. The Telezapper, when calls are answered, emits three tones which kind of sound to the caller, as if they have reached a wrong or disconnected number. Robocall equipment, as described by the Telezapper literature will hangup/disconnect the call at that point. In addition to that, I recorded a new message on my answering machine, and delayed the beginning of the message by 3 or 4 seconds, to allow the robocall equipment time to disconnect, before my message begins. So the result of all of this effort has eliminated calls on my machine that I actually need to erase. After the tones, they hang up and do not keep the call going to the point where my answering machine basically records silence, and my message minutes get used up. This leaves more time on my machine for real messages that I actually want to receive. I have received a couple messages from sales folks that are not Robocallers. But the amount of annoying calls literally has been greatly reduced. Thank goodness for caller ID also from my service provider so that I can monitor incoming call information as well. I hope all of this info helps you decide whether the Telezapper would be a worthy device to use in your household.Read full review

An Att&t operator recommended we get one for our landline. Said it would take a few months to rid the rings. We've had it about 2 months and it might be less but I can't really tell. The still call and callback if you don't answer the 1st time. Maybe it needs a few more months

I recently purchased this "zapper" to stop the telemarketers from calling repeatedly. Although they change their numbers and computers often, and sell out telephone numbers, this little zapper works well. It will reduce the number of unwanted callers as time goes on, and you'll see or "not hear" the difference quickly. I have been using the same Zapper for over ten years, and it works really great! I purchased this one to use at another location. It has lasted for many years, and the battery is easy to replace - but you will not have to worry about replacement for years! It's a welcome to anyone who has a "hard wire" land-line phone. Enjoy to peace and quite, and use it with any home answering machine, too.

It did reduce spam, scam, and robo-calls, however when a computer dialer hears the beep and disconnects, it can also record that phone number and caller ID as an our of service number and then hijack that caller ID and use it as their own to cover their tracks. Then instead of receiving scam calls, you start receiving call-back calls from victims of scam calls that used your caller ID to see who called them. I got 6 of these call back type calls in just one day.

This product works as stated. It does not purport to stop all telemarketer calls. It does not purport to stop all 800 calls. It is designed only to stop robo calls. Before we used this product we received more than a half dozen robo telemarketing calls a day - even on Sundays. These calls, which were the vast majority of telemarketing calls, have now stopped. This is without out having to program blocked calls and allowed calls. We can easily handle the rest. Oh yes, all we had to do is unplug one of our phones from the wall outlet, plug that into one end of the Telezapper and lastly plug the other end of the Telezapper into our wall outlet.
