Runs great at 2500+watts. Supplied "DC cables" are not big enough. Details follow.
Performs beautifully so far. The fan came on at medium speed, but the fan exhaust was NOT warm. I tested at about 2500 watts for 5 minutes, using purely resistive and non-reactive loads. I have a small complaint with the DC terminal lugs. The holes (6 mm in size, 1/4") are drilled in too close to the unit, preventing large terminal lugs from being attached in any orientation except "straight out", in line with the body of the unit. Some people (including me) may prefer a vertical orientation for terminal wires, and lugs bigger than standard AWG-0 cannot be connected in that direction. Also, the supplied DC connection cables are utterly inadequate for a high power connection into this Inverter (I have the "3000/6000" model. They appear to be approximately AWG-2, good for (maybe) 120 Amps ... Performs beautifully so far. The fan came on at medium speed, but the fan exhaust was NOT warm. Anyone who wants to use even 1000 watts of output power should probably throw those cables away. I did that, and upgraded to high quality AWG 2/0 with tinned copper lugs. Your main questions, in reading all this (thank you!) might be #1, can it really do 3000 watts continuous?, and #2 can it really supply 6000 watts as a very short 'peak output' value for a reactive load, or a motor armature startup? I'm uncertain about the instantaneous power, although I feel confident about using my "1000 watt" microwave on my next camping trip. LITHIUM BATTERY USERS should be aware that the "soft-start" feature only applies to 120-VAC output loads. When the Inverter is first connected to an array of Lithium batteries (particularly LFP), the very low internal resistance of the battery pack will allow extremely high current from the battery. This current is a draw to pre-charged the Inverter's 12-VDC input capacitors. This "spark" will occur even when the Inverter is turned "off". With my LFP battery pack, I even saw a pretty significant spark. The BMS ("Battery Management System" in my own LFP battery pack allows for very high peak current values, but a smaller BMS unit could possibly "die" from the sudden and enormous current load. To prevent that, Lithium battery users should first connect the Inverter through a "12V" circuit with high resistance (e.g., 10-20 ohms) for several seconds, and only connect the second "main" DC input cable after the Inverter's DC Capacitors have reached full charge. This issue occurs only on the first connection to DC "12V" power sources, it does occur when the 120-VAC inverter is turned on or off.

i use these inverters with my solar panel and batteries to power my workshop and home. i have two of the 5000/10,000 that run 24/7 and 3000/6000 to power lights and small power tools in shop. never had a problem.
