  • Not the Arcade, but a good game

Ok, if you played Rastan on the arcade you probably thought it was a great game. The Sega Master System tries to do the same, but it is not up to par. The Characters on the screen look very small compared to the Arcade version. Well, it is 8-bit graphic. The music for the sega master system is Ok. The arcade is better because the music is soft, then increases as the level progresses, then goes soft again. Each stage is a little different. Same idea for each stage, but the format is changed. One positive is that Rastan's health bar is stronger on the sega master system and his health bar increases each stage. He has lives, more then one like in the arcade and you can see the health bar of your enemy bosses. All and all, if you are a sega master system fan and liked Rastan, this ...

  • The best hack-n-slash platformer title for Sega Master System

Rastan for Mater System is a port of the arcade classic of the same name. Even though this is an 8-bit port of the much larger arcade game, this title delivers the same gameplay, fun, and challenge as it's big brother. The controls are tight and responsive, which isn't very common for games of this era. And the graphics are as good as any 8-bit game of its day. The audio is of average quality, but the tunes are catchy enough. Overall... This is the best hack-n-slash platformer on Master System, and it's very faithful to the arcade version.

  • Lower your expectations...

First of all Rastan is one of my all time favourite arcade games, I spent A LOT of time playing it and I enjoyed every second of it, when I bought the SEGA Master cartridge recently I was expecting a lot from it, but it was kinda disappointing, it lacked "seriousness", and by that I mean similarity to the actual arcade game. The graphics were, well SEGA Master graphics, predictably pale in comparison to the arcade ones, soundtrack too, the overall gaming wasn't too bad because the game itself is a lot of fun. You will definitely enjoy playing Rastan on SEGA Master, but it you wanted to get it I would definitely suggest buying "Taito Legends" on PC, now THAT was the bomb, I felt like I was 20 years younger and playing the actual arcade game, incredibly similar to it.. I hope this was ...

  • Old school beat-em up platformer at its finest

Purchased this game with only a brief recollection of playing it in the arcade back in the day. Wasnt disappointed. A wonderful trip down memory lane and looks great in the collection

  • Just the greatest

It’s just a great time. I had a time I tell ya, but after a couple try’s I got the case open and fell asleep reading the instructions, I haven’t played it yet, but it sure looks good, so far the experience is great! I recommend it.
