About this product

Product Information

Throughout Shinobi you play the role of Jo-Musashi, a master ninja. Your mission is to take down the Ring of Five, a terrorist group led by five ninjas who have kidnapped the children of several world leaders. Rescue the children and destroy the evil ninjas as you battle through five missions and 15 rounds. Your primary form of attack is to throw a shuriken. When enemies are close enough, other forms of attack are used: a sword, nunchaku, punch, or kick. Players can also jump, use a gun, set bombs, and use ninja magic. Ninja magic can be earned through a series of bonus rounds; players throw shurikens at targets from a first-person perspective.

  • A Must Have For The SMS

Great game! Addicting and fun. The different projectile and close range attack power ups mix things up. The multiple plane gameplay is a cool thing you don't see so much. It might've been the first, at least the way its used in this game. Flashed me back to the 80s-90s. Came in great condition as stated.

  • A Classic Sega Game

If you played Shinobi on the arcade, you will differently want this game. It is a classic and the NES version is terrible. Why???? Well, Sega produced the game for the Arcade. It's a classic Sega game. There are some differences on the 8-bit console verses the Arcade. Number one, there is more weapons that Joe can throw and swing on the 8-bit version. Number two, He has a life bar that increases as you rescue the kidnapped children. Not the one hit and your are dead, like in the Arcade version. The graphic are not as good as the Arcade version and 20,000 point bonus for not using a throwing weapon through out a stage has been taken out. You must win the bonus stages to use magic in the eight bit version. The music, control and graphics kicks the nintendo versions tail. Way to ...

  • A Sega masterpiece!

One of the best Master System games ever made. Shinobi is truly a 8-bit ninja master!

  • What is wrong with the box?

The cover and manual are fine, but the box will not close properly. This box's sides are a little big longer than any other SMS jewelcase, causing the hinges to not close all the way. What quality control policy do you have?

  • Become a ninja master!

The original arcade port to the SMS. It's tough but controls are tight so when you die you know it's your fault. My one complaint is the music. What's there is good but I wish there was more, as it just loops a short track and it does get old.
