About this product

Product Information

Cloud Master is a typical side-scrolling shooter with not so typical enemies, including cat heads, flying bowls of ramen noodles and killer roosters. Also atypical is the "ship" you control -- a wizard standing on a cloud. There are plenty of things to shoot within the boss-guarded five levels of play, and the game is plenty challenging. However, the shooting action is dull, power-up variety is minimal, and the backgrounds are washed out with little graphical detail (the foreground doesn't look so hot, either). This game pales in comparison to such genre greats as R-Type and Gradius. <!--Book-->

  • A solid title worth checking out if you are searching for a challenge.

Cloud Master is definitively, one of the better schmup experiences on the 8-bit Master system. It features some great looking sprites, less flicker than most other games for the system, sensible controls, and a solid power-up system. Its seriously one of the better looking games for the system in general. The sprite work has ancient Japanese themes throughout, including traditional Japanese art work and some wonderful color schemes used as well. It was painfully obvious even next to to the Nintendo Entertainment System that the Sega Master System palette was immensely gorgeous and featured a lot more performance power in comparison to the NES as well. This game is a good example of early Horizontal Shoot-em ups excelling on the console with more tricks up its sleeve than the NES, ...

  • Cloud Master Sega Master System

I had this game since I was a kid and there is a number of shooters for this system like R-Type and Fantasy Zone. This shooter is by far the hardest. The game is fun with a lot of options for power ups like in Fantasy Zone, but it one of these games that you will want to put your fist through the screen. To this day, it is one of the only SMS games I was unable to beat. If you are looking for a challenge and like shooters, this game is for you. If not, I'd pass on this game.
