i knew he was good from his albums, but he is awesome live. check it out. he looks about 100 but plays like a kid. i think it's the same singer as his old days. he's good too. Plus like affordable live concert dvd's. it fit my price range

Vintage Rock performance
Robin Trower is a rock guitar legend and his playing style very much resembles Jimi Hendrix. Since they arose out of the same Rock/Blues "cradle", it's not surprising. Trower's influence has been understated because he does not have a flamboyant personality (like Hendrix or even Clapton for that matter, he's very unassuming). On this DVD he reasserts his claim to the rock/blues/psychodelic guitar crown. Although he doesn't quite have the songwriting ability Hendrix had, he certainly has the musical ability. His band is very similar in talent to the band he had in the late 60's and early to mid-70's. It's also great to see an older performer pick bandmates (with the exception of the drummer) that are not 20-30 years younger than himself. Dave Bronze, his bass player for example is ... great dvd! robin trower is one of the fewest of the extremely great masters of the electric guitar left on this planet. he is in all realization a master of his own unique style(s) and sound. To me he is as spontaneous as Jimi Hendrix was, and rocks at 60 more than any guitarist that i can think of. he is a national treasure for his country(U.K.) and rock-and-roll treasure of the world, no doubt. Unfortunately not a lot of the newer generation knows about him and since he is english there's a knowledge-void on peoples' part regarding his great mastery due to some of those reasons. true rock and roll fans should get to know this giant before he is gone. rock stations should play more of these great living masters rather than play music of little substance being churned out by musicians of ... great dvd! robin trower is one of the fewest of the extremely great masters of the electric guitar left on this planet. he is in all realization a master of his own unique style(s) and sound. Robin Still Has IT!
It should be embarrassing to the younger crowd that someone at the age of 60 has more talent in their little finger (not to mention inspiration) that these "so-called" new bands seem to have. Robin shows that he's still got it - maybe even better than ever. Watching this DVD made me decide to pick up tickets to a show he's playing here next month.
