I taped Riverdance off the tv many years ago and even though it was poor quality, I loved this one best because it has Micheal Flatly and Jean Butler in it. I would even put on the tape and then turn the volume up and just listen to the music and tapping in another room. Beautiful. After upgrading our VHS to a DVD player, I really missed watching Riverdance so I decided to find a DVD version...and guess what? Due to contracts or something, this edition has not yet been recorded onto a DVD format. If you want this edition, the only two options are a CD with "clips" of the original performance or buy a VHS tape. I decided to buy the VHS tape after my son gave me a VHS tape to DVD burner. Now I can make my own DVD AND watch the VHS too. No other performance of Riverdance, or Lord of The Dance , for that matter, is worth all this trouble just to watch it. This 1996 Performance edition IS Riverdance.Read full review

It had been some years since I had seen this tape, and I enjoyed it just as much this time as ever before. I think that it is simply awe-inspiring to watch these gifted and talented young men and women perform their incredibley timed and Choreographed dance steps. How in the world do they do it?
Great quality; very relaxing. This show make you appreciated our international culture. The dancer are very professionals and the coordination is almost perfect. All of us have some Irish blood in us; the video make you feel like you always belong in Ireland.
Well executed and great music. Noting to dislike. Flatley and Butler are winderful together. Ancellary acts fit in seamlessly.
