Red’s Corner, that’s the name of a bar I once patronized as a “yute.” Just finished the book and enjoyed it very much. The condition was as described, the price was more than fair and the shipping a tad slow. Blame the Post Office these days, they’re beginning to emulate the DMV.     Kit Saves the Day

    In this book, Kit carries through with the awareness and concern she gained for the hobo children having to live in Hooverville communities (Changes for Kit). She and her family and friends make collection efforts to aid these ones less fortunate with warm clothing and shoes. In the end, she counters her radical, nonsympathetic uncle and his tyrannical letters to the editor, with her own letter and photos of the conditions in which these ones have been forced to live. It is a good book to introduce to children that we all have contributions we can make and also the obligation to make efforts in behalf of others. As with the other Kit books, the back has a supplement of information about this era in our country's history, the Hooverville conditions, FDR's innovative plans to aid in ...
