Little Man is a 2006 American film starring Wayans brothers Marlon Wayans, and Shawn Wayans, with Kerry Washington, and Tracy Morgan. It is directed by the older Wayans' brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and it's also written by the three brothers. Little Man was released on DVD, November 7, 2006. The Wayans Brothers are back with Little Man, another cartoony comedy destined to annoy critics and make a chunk of change anyway. Marlon Wayans plays Calvin, an ex-con jewel thief who happens to be a little person (to achieve this effect, Wayans’ head is digitally superimposed on a little person’s body). During a police chase, Calvin stashes a huge diamond in the purse of Vanessa (Kerry Washington). Then he decides to leave himself as a baby on the doorstep to infiltrate the home of Vanessa and her hubby (Shawn Wayans). The tortured contrivances keep on coming, but the laughs sadly don’t. My favorite plot excuse? Child protective services is closed for the weekend…sorry kids! As a side note, movie fans may wish to note that the plot and many visual cues are borrowed from the Chuck Jones cartoon “Baby Buggy Bunny,” which in turn may have pilfered from the Our Gang short “Free Eats.” Anyway, if your taste runs to scatology and you find little people inherently funny, Little Man may be the movie for you.Read full review
I was skeptical at first about the content of the movie...because I was purchasing this for my two boys, ages 10 and 7. So I watched it with them the first time to "screen it"....I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't as much bad language as I had figured...however, there were some hints to some adult type situations, however, it was cleverly disguised where young people may not even catch on. My boys were more tickled by watching this little fella run around and do the funny things he did rather than the occasional adult content. It wasn't as bad as I had figred actually. It was funny and wasn't overly silly. My boys have watched it numerous times already and we have only had it a couple of days!
Now I thought White Chicks was funny but Little Man has got it beat. It is by far funnier than White Chicks. These guys just get funnier. After seeing this one I don't see how they could get any funnier. Little Man (Marlon Wayans) steals a diamond and to keep from getting caught with it he has to put the diamond into the wife of Darryle (Shawn Wayans) purse then he has to play the role of a baby left on their porch steps to try, and get it back. This movie is full of nothing but laughs you will not regret getting it i recommend it highly. I will have to give this movie a 2 thumbs up.
LittleMAN turned out to be MUCH BETTER THAN WE HAD EXPECTED, and was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!! A MUST SEE! We were not at all disappointed! This edition is the LOADED with Extra Crap Edition, PACKED WITH UNRATED DELETED SCENES & MORE!! Our Overall Rating: 8.5/10 THANKS!!! CHAOTICZ
The film does have rather funny and entertaining moments, and the special features actually show how the film was made, and it was just interesting to me.
