    Phil Vassar, Phil Vassar CD, 2000

    Phil Vassar's self named debut album broke onto the charts like a rocket nine years ago and his wonderful writing, singing and mad piano playing hasn't slowed down since. His voice, in turn mellow, sad, lively, rowdy and playful will appeal to almost any fan of the new country sound. You can't call him old country, Waylon and Steve Earle and the other outlaws we all grew up loving and still love, but he sure isn't the corporate sound, cookie cutter Kenny Chesney type either. You will love this album and will surely want to follow it up with the rest of Phil's wonderful contributions to the sounds you are going to learn to love. Great stuff!!!

    Amazing album to begin a career with!

    Phil Vassar is definitely not the biggest artist out there and sadly will probably never make it to be one of the biggest but in all honesty that is fine. I already owned his second CD 'American Child' which is one of the best albums I have ever bought and that is partly why I wanted to get this one. This one is definitely way better than I expected. Being his first CD I figured he would have gotten a ton better with his second CD and while he definitely did, that is definitely saying something because every single song on this album is simply amazing and deserves to be listened to multiple times. Cannot wait to get the rest of his albums!
