I purchased this receiver for my 85 Mustang. This is my second one with me buying this identical receiver about a year ago and had it installed in my truck. Pros: - Bluetooth interface with cell phones is flawless and call quality is great...built in microphone and voice comes through the car speakers - MP3 play from CD and USB - USB cable from the rear of receiver long enough to reach to glove box - Mult-color display Cons: - Display (specifically the clock) is small - Eject button needs to be relocated...it is near the volume knob so sometimes you inadvertently eject the CD by mistake when reaching for the volume - Receiver lights do not dim with the instrument cluster lights - Importing your phone book from the phone is tricky and doesn't work from some phones So...would I recommend this receiver to anyone? Definitely.Read full review
Bought this to upgrade from a mid-line Pioneer deck I've been suffering with for too long. I've had Eclipse units in the past, so I knew the sound quality would be there, but it far exceeded my expectations. The display is kind of small, and the digits for the clock are poorly placed, and also too small. The remote seems to have a short delay when attempting to do anything. Not a huge issue unless browsing through a thumb drive full of music. Then it can be a little annoying. The controls can be a little tricky, but if you don't mind reading, and just toying with the unit for awhile, you can easily get the hang of it.
This has got to be by far, the best car stereo head unit I've owned! I've moved on from Alpine to Eclipse, and Eclipse hasn't disappointed me at all! It's got a built in Crossover for your cabin speakers and another for your subwoofer channels as well as preset audio equalizers and the option to manually set them. I love this units 6 different color scheme features, I can set it to match whichever car I wish to put the unit in to. Also, the power this unit has it significantly more when compared to other units in its own class. I don't use the USB Stick add-on much since I just burn all my music to CD's(Looks better than having a USB stick stick out of the dash), I just hide it, but it is a nice addition to have for those who wish to not carry around CD media. The unit has a D-Pad and a very nice volume/setting control wheel on the outside which can be set to a rotary mode to function much like the older units they used to produce. The wheel and D-pad glow a very strong red when the ESN is enabled, also, the removable faceplate also is a great plus of this unit! Most of the previous units made by the company didn't have this feature, even though the ESN alone was great! I find the Bluetooth for cellphones very convenient when paired with the Auto Answer feature. I can just keep on driving while my calls are automatically accepted, the sound quality of the calls sounds priceless. Its quality is just that great! All in all, this head unit deserves a 5/5 rating since it has so much packed into it, making it a great bang for your buck!Read full review
