    AMD AM3 Athlon II 3.0 Ghz. 3 Cores. Why use anthing else?

    Loyal AMD customer I am, for me this was the most modern processor so far. I look for the slightly older models that can still be had on super budget and I picked this one up on the secondary market for a little over $30.00. It's not like I'm blown away, but it does everything its supposed to do. I can only judge from a similar dual core I used tirelessly and how it performed day in, day out with relative ease. Certainly this has to do as well. It plays You Tube streaming videos full screen on the highest setting without a hick up. Soon I'll install some modern games to put it through its paces. Go Athlon II!

    An amazing price/performance ratio that's still great for current software!

    I feel most of the K10 AthlonII/PhenomII offerings ended being some of the very best cpu lineups they've done in the modern era. Depending on which "stepping" version of the processor you have, there's the possibility of unlocking a 4th core that isn't damaged, however as most enthusiast's will tell you, don't bet your money on unlocking a good core. Buy it for the value/performance that this provides, and just smile if you DO get the extra core. Those of you looking to overclock will be happy with the moderate headroom in this chip. If you're coming from a history of dual cores, or Intel offerings with Hyper Threading(HT), you'll be pleasantly surprised with true multiple core technology. A great offering from AMD
