Opteron 2xx replacements for low power consumption
The HE's are nice low power consumption replacements for the non HE processor models. I used supermicro boards with those two 95W processors, so the overall processor power consumption with the HE's went down from 180W on full load to 110W. It may be interesting that the 875 HEs will also work as 2XX replacements in two processor boards, even they are designed for boards with more than two processors. This might be an interesting information for those who want to reduce energy consumption and who are not sure if the 875 works. It will probably do. The fastest of the low power opterons. 875 == 275
The 875 processors are easier to come by vs. the 275 ones. The 275 are limited to two CPUs per system, the 875 in theory could run 8 way (good luck finding a motherboard that can still do that).
