I received the sight pusher and picked up my slide to see if it would fit. This was just supposed to be a dry-run to see how it worked. Before I knew it my old sight was in my hand. I figured that you install in reverse and before I knew it my new sight was started. I had finished the job before I even meant to start it. In this case, RIA .45 CS with G.I. dovetail, it was as easy as you can get. I've got three more sets to replace making the price of this unit very cost effective. No bells or whistles, just mechanical advantage and a well designed tool. Excellent!

The pusher works great on square slide pistols. I removed and installed sights on my xds very quick and easy. However if your slide is not perfectly square you will have issues with it not staying in position. I found this out when changing sights on my girlfriends German p226. I ended up having to use 2 thin wood blocks(1 on each side of the slide) as spacers to get it square and solidly lined up in the front. If you don't plan on doing a lot of sight changes/adjustments and just need something quick and cheap this pusher works great. But if you plan on doing several different pistols I'd recommend spending a little more and getting a more versatile tool.

Bought this to be able throw it in my bag and make adjustments at the range. As soon as I got it I tried it on my G19 and it was very easy to set up and use. It’s also very easy to adjust for other slide sizes. I threw some gorilla tape on the clamping area to protect my slide. Just add a 9/16 socket and ratchet and you’re all set. It’s solidly made and the seller shipped very fast as well.

This is a good basic tool for the price. Understand that it won't turn you into a gunsmith, and you have to put in some time to understand the forces at play and the set-up needed to use it. For slab-sided slides like a Glock or 1911, it works great, especially if all you need to do is adjust the sight's position. If your job entails complete removal and replacement, especially of sights really set into place, more effort is required. The front of my Sig P226 has a step and taper on the sides of the slide, so I had to fashion some shims out of pennies in order to clamp on the flat portion at the bottom of the slide to remove/install the front sight. You have to work carefully in setting everything up, lest the slide twist in the clamp when torque is applied. A lot of force is employed to remove sights, and damage can result if you are not careful. If you have some degree of mechanical aptitude and enjoy a challenge, this tool will serve you well. Highly recommended product!!! Worked great with my shield. It was so easy to set up and use. The design was perfect for the long guide rod port, the vertical/horizontal adjustments in conjunction with the lip made the install so quick. However, I do not recommend the use of this to remove stock shield sights. The factory darn near glued them in place. Use a brass punch and nylon hammer for factory sight removal.
