This might be the first time I liked a modern Scooby doo movie. Good story, relatable to young and old. The closest to old school scooby I've seen.. Mr Hyde is more scary and might be too intense for very young viewers. Usually Warner's tries to make it too edgy and put in subliminal PC messages.... If there are any they are over shadowed by a good story and animation..Over all a good movie

S-D is a favorite of mine and my family.I grew up on S-D and my children enjoy him in much the same way.The series and movies are constantly good-iconic characters in different locations and situations in a family-friendly way.It suceeds because it is marketed to a very large cross section of people-a 70 year old could watch and enjoy it as much as a 7 year old plus it has a universal appeal that stretches over all countries and cultures.Really,it is like a well liked franchise that follows a proven formula.The characters have retained the same identity and appeal when first appeared in 1969 and have stayed true to this some 44 years later.I saw this one and rate it as one of the better ones-it particularly impressed me because it had references and cameos of other characters from my childhood.Many movies now try to remake or sample previous successes and fail miserably.Usually they try to re-invent it and hype it up.Sometimes,as in this case,you stay true to the formula and don't try to "re-invent the wheel" to get the best.Also,at the cost of buying it,it is good value compared to going to the cinemas where you usually see a much hyped and pedestrian effort(usually the marketing is far more impressive than the movie itself)-also S-D can act whereas most so-called actors are mere shadows in comparison.Read full review
