I wanted to do a review of the packaging of this product and all of the other Futurama movies because it seems a lot of people aren't sure of how the packaging comes. First off, the packaging of each of the DVD's is with cardboard style exterior and interior. All of the Futurama DVD movies are like this so if you're searching for different packaging, you won't find it. The packaging is actually well done though, so don't underestimate it just because it isn't made of plastic. The DVD's all have amazing artwork all over the boxes. Each DVD box has an outer shell with cover art on the front and back, and another sleeve that slides out from the side of the case and opens up to reveal the actual DVD. All sides of the insert have their own unique artwork (which is very cool I might add). The DVD's are held in a slot however instead of a snap on circular clip like most DVD's. That's probably the worst part about the packaging, but the sleeves are tight and prevent the DVD's from moving around, so it really isn't much of a problem. If you buy the DVD's new, they will also (at least in MY case) come with some little postcard style artwork that's actually really cool! The postcards are actually promotional inserts showing you some of the handpainted posters you can buy from the fox artwork website. But even as postcard size, they are cool to hang up on your wall seeing as each of the last 3 DVD's come with at least 2 to 4 postcards totaling 10 different pictures. Overall, I would say the actual functional part of the packaging could have been done better. The DVD slots are kind of strange, but the actual LOOK of the packaging is very cool which makes up for the fact that there's no actual way to HOOK your DVD in place. I've only seen the first two movies so far, but they are definately something every Futurama collector should own! It has the same hilarious style of the TV series and will get you ready for when Futurama finally returns to TV in 2010.Read full review
Well first off, the reason I bought this DVD is because, I have been hooked on Futurama for about 4 years now. I saw an episode on T.V and laughed my ass off and fell in love- only to find out that FOX cancelled the series and I could only buy 4 seasons worth of shows. Much to my delight and the delight of other fans, King Groening and his pal David decided to make 4 full lenght DVDs. This being the last of the 4 and in my opinion, one of the best. If you are into sci-fi flims, comedy, and escapism is something you look forward to, then this what the doctor ordered. Plus, you don't even have to be a fan of animation, or cartoons to dig this film. This is something that my parents could watch and fall in love with. My girlfriend, who is into reality shows and garbage T.V- loves watching this with me, and we have watched this one many times over. So I give this 4 out of 4 stars, and want to thank Comedy Central for bringing us a whole NEW season of Futurama starting ths June. Live is worth living again! ENJOY! B.KRead full review
