This is a tale of two stands. My other two stands are the "Ultimate Support" brand found at Guitar Center. Though I have not personally experienced issues with these stands, I became aware of a profound weakness through the internet reviews. These have a plastic, rotating lock which tends to break very easily with repeated folding and unfolding such as one would do if taking this stand to gigs! If this plastic lock breaks, there is literally nothing between the floor and your precious axe! There is no bracing on the legs. That piece of very breakable plastic is literally the only thing holding the stand up! Mine have survived likely due to the fact that I set them up once and leave them set up in the room all the time. I do not gig! I just record. The Fender stand is a very different animal! Right away the quality construction is clear and this stand does have metal reinforced legs! It simply cannot fail like the Ultimate. The Fender stand is obviously built with the Stratocaster in mind with its offset hanger conforming to the slightly offset nature of similar headstocks. If you have a different guitar, no worries! My full sized Martin acoustic fits just fine! The free hanging design along with the height adjustment will accommodate just about any guitar. I have not noticed any reaction from the padding to the finish on my strat and it has hung there of weeks. My advice would be avoid the "Ultimate" and go with the Fender!Read full review

If you can get it on sale it’s worth it. It’s crazy to pay regular price for it. IF AND WHEN IT GOES ON SALE, yes, it’s a good product. I do love it. It is sturdy and safe but only on sale. Half price of regular.

Heavy and strong. Competitor's imitations can't keep up with this one. So far it has been a real "One size fits all" for me. I tried other designs but this one beat them all. Fender has the right idea with this one.

Good stand, especially for guitars that have a nitrocellouse finish. It does not have a lock or bottom so I would not recommend for out-of-house or gigs.
