A cracking guitar for the money - but a little heavy. I purchased one of these from ebay for about the same price: It's a great guitar! I've played guitars for around 40 years - everything from the incredible vintage Gibson J45 acoustic to cheap tele and strat copies - with a few real Fender Teles in between.. and this guitar feels Good! Straight out of the (ebay, second-hand) box, this guitar felt about twice the weight of the low-end Affinity Teles and, compared to the Affinity Tele I was playing at the time, this felt like a big chunk of mud-soaked swamp wood with strings! At first I couldn't get on with the muddy tones - especially as the tone was so dull and woolly at low volumes.... Then, I discovered the .047 uF tone capacitor trick. Installed one of these (for about £0.50 GBP) and the sound was instantly awesome! It requires a little soldering to add the capacitor to the standard wiring - about half an hour - but no big deal. The capacitor prevents the common "treble bleed" issue, where the treble end of the tone deteriorates as the volume is wound down. From here on, it started to sound like a "real" tele. Bright, spanky tops, honking mids and a growling bottom end - and 22 frets to play with! The finish is superb but the weight is a little on the heavy side. That said, the weight probably contributes to the overall tone and sustain - part of the Tele's unique sound. The neck is good, adjusts well with the truss rod and the tuning, once intonation is set up, is excellent - stays in tune for days! My only reservation is that I would prefer to see it with a maple fingerboard, just to add a little extra snap. For the price, this will bring you close to getting that "Tele" sound. I've upgraded it with Fender Texas Special pickups and now it is as close to a real Tele as you can get without spending a fortune. Buy one!Read full review

I liked the feel I suppose but the pickups were not happening for me. Did not sound like a Tele style guitar. Almost like the pickups were phased wrong. Might be an easy fix but it's a new guitar. Through some amp gain the sound really went downhill. Unplugged sounded best. Now my Squire "Classic Vibe" Tele is tip-top. I love that guitar. Selling the one I am reviewing.

Wanted to get a Fender Telecaster but didn't want to spend for a USA Tele . Bought a Squier Standard Telecaster and I think I got my moneys worth with this one . Plays great to me and stays in tune rather well . One draw back , finished had a crack the length of the body on the front of the guitar .
Great look! Great sound! Stays in tune then most guitars even if its in a gig bag. I haven't had any issues with this guitar yet. I recommend it to anyone who plays guitar.
