Very nice instrument, tight taught strings offer the perfect resistance for fast playing, the best sound for my style of playing .. A winner with both a P Bass pickup and also a humbucker at the bridge position !! Very full tone, Punchy with a lot of bottom ! This has become my main bass for both recording and Live gigs ......

One of the finest bound and blocked necks I have ever seen. Perfect fit on my P bass. bolted right up and just tweaked the truss rod a bit. Stratosphere is easy to work with and have great products that you can't find anywhere else.

The Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass, 4 or 5 string, with the Double Jazz bridge pickup are the very razors edge of Fenders bass production. Later models with a single jazz bridge pickup loss that cutting edge sound of these earlier models. This bass will have better range in sound and can produce more of the growl found in the mid 70's Fender jazz basses. Yet, it will still produce pure precision tones along with modern jazz tones. What I think you will like best of all is that shaping the sound of this bass is only limited by you. I have found these older models to have a bigger tool box on board than the American Deluxe / Elite Jazz Bass or current Elite Precision Bass offered by Fender. If you want one of the excellent 5 string American Deluxe Basses with the wonderful active electronics you will have to find one from 2006 or back. They were only produced for about 3 years so they are hard to find and not given up without big bucks changing hands! Personally, after 40+ years playing bass if I could only play one this is the bass I would grab over all others regardless of brand or price!Read full review

The Fender American Deluxe Precision V is the one bass that will retire all your others. I purchased mine in 2006 and it is the best bass I've ever had in my hands in 40 years of bass playing. The range of sounds can not be found in other basses. It produces the thick P bass sound you would expect but the Double J pick up will produce the J bass harmonics with more growl than you would ever get with any J bass alone. The 18 volt onboard electronics are amazing. I own or owned Ricks, G&L, Warwick, Musicman, you name it I've had it or do now and none compare to my 2006 American Deluxe V ash bass. Own and the fit and finish on mine is the best I've seen on a production bass from anyone. Keep on playing!
