This is a superb MIM Pbass fit and finish is perfect, beautiful Sea foam Pearl color and the Pau Ferro Jazz neck plays so good. No rough edges on frets at all and the hi mass bridge is a Big plus. Love the active /passive feature with no difference in volume switching back and forth. The 18v battery box is the pop out type unlike the Elite series. This bass sounds like a traditional P or J in the passive mode and in the active mode you add the midrange and the tone is wow ! Fender really got it right with this baby. I have played the American Elite P and it is wonderful but at a thousand bucks more.........nah ,

I bought this guitar nearly open box new and it arrived exactly as described and perfect in every respect. The fit and finish are absolutely perfect as far as I can see and tell. I tuned it and immediately felt at home with the narrower than some others C neck and strange that when I tuned it to proper pitch it was almost a perfect setup for me. Granted, I'm not the best bass player in the world, but it was very easy to get used to the feel. Some had complained about the sharp corners on the fret bars, but mine did not appear to have that problem. The best part is the variety of EQ setups you can easily use. My Fender Bassman 100 sounds better than ever and between the two, no one would have trouble finding the perfect tone. The only problem I have found is the frets are a little long for my average size hands. I find it a little difficult to reach as far as needed sometimes. I stupidly sold my Ernie Ball bass which was perfect, but someone offered me an unbelievable price and I took it. The fret lengths were perfect. I've owned severaly fender basses...a Precision and a Jazz and both were awesome, but I think this MIM guitar comes mighty close. Anyway, you would be hard pressed to find a better instrument for the price!Read full review

I had planned to PIMP this bass out with upgrades - not needed. Fender himass bridge is a beast - get sustain - the pups are noiseless and passive mode sounds great AS WELL as active. Lots of different tones - never had a new bass out of the box be spot on for setup - I went through the entire bass setup from truss to nut height and intonation - EXCELLENT!

The ability to play this through my practice amp and it still sounds good. The Noiseless J-style Bridge pup is awesome and being able to use three band eq. is especially nice. You can switch from passive to active nicely as well. The build of this Bass is not to be missed, it's just as nice as high-end instruments costing three times as much... IMHO. Fender's quality control is top-notch there is no doubt about it these days. Get one, you and your tone won't be sorry.
