At first, I was just trying to find a deal on a decent delay that could give me a U2 or EVH style delay with heavy repeats. I previously owned a Boss DD7 (sold it prior to this purchase) and regretted getting rid of that signature delay style I knew and loved. So I went looking for a deal on pedals, I happened to stumble upon this one for cheap (even tho it was brand new). Despite the backlash this pedal has received from Grand Canyon fans, I admire this pedal. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best pedals I have. Its versatile in its own right and VERY clear sounding in comparison to the Boss DD7 I once had. But what really struck me was how customizable the settings are. To be able to make presets on different voicings and time settings then be able to come back to them at a moment's notice is a plus. Speaking of settings, I will confess I don't use the looper BUT that's simply because I don't need a looper (soon I'll be purchasing a boss RC 505). It's one of the reasons I chose this over the Grand Canyon (that and I don't have anything to run in stereo). So to whoever wants a fun delay to experiment around with that's also compact in size: just get it already.Read full review

I recommend that you find this feature rich pedal on Youtube for a full demo. It is a looper, reverb and delay with other additional effects all in one ( mode knob selects 11 different modes). As a delay, you can use the Tap Divide switch to choose between 1/4 note, dotted 1/8th and 1/8th The tempo can be set with the delay knob (5 milliseconds to 3 second range) or with a tapped delay using either the built in foot-switch or an external momentary foot-switch connected into the 1/4" Tap In jack. It has an external 9V jack (requires 150mA) and is very ruggedly built and compact. It will be a great addition to your pedal board.

Whenever I’m in a rut and don’t feel like playing or learning anything new, I just turn on the canyon delay pedal. It instantly inspires me to be creative and to just have fun. For such a small pedal it is ridiculously versatile, with several different organic sounding delays and it even includes a looper! My favorites are the DMM mode and the reverse delay, such cool ambient sounds. I also use a cheap external tap tempo to make it even easier to set the tempo, although the built in tap tempo works fine. This pedal is a must have on every board.

I watched a video of a comparison of this pedal and TC Electronic's Flashback when I was about to buy Flashback. This one sounds significantly better for a similar price. I wanted tape delay and this was an upgrade from my old Boss DD-3. Canyon gives you an option to adjust settings of each mode so it's packed with lots of sounds. Also, the loop mode has a function that allows you to play drum tracks after they're downloaded from YouTube. Not sure if Flashback does that. Very happy about the purchase.
