These box sets are very reminiscent of the Botcon box sets by Fun Publications. Most of the set features recolored figures with new heads. In the case of Magnus Prime, he's a wonderful release of previously Japanese exclusive mold of Gin Rai. There are a few minor color changes like the blue crotch instead of white; an unaltered released might have been preferable to some. Regardless, this figure may be a selling point for someone people. I was pleasantly surprised that Titdal Wave's head didn't look terribly out of place on Broadside's body. The detailing from Metalhawk's face continues on to the side of the Titan Master's arms and really helps to blend all of his parts together. The diecast Thunderwing head has a great feel to it, but just like Rodimus head in the previous set, don't expect him to stand on his own. Finally, the main draw of this set for a lot of people is going to be Pounce. The only way to get any version of this figure is in this set. He's a wonderful update/improvement over the original G1 toy. There is no deviation in color or design when compared to his brother Wingspan (available as a Walgreens exclusive). This toy is pretty much the same as the sold separtly version. It has a better detailed semi cab. It also has different arms, legs, & color scheme. This toy is the main piece needed for the pup trailer that turns into additional armor. The only down thing about either of these is that Optimus does not transform by itself. It only changes into a robot with the trailer. You can get a PC-16 Optimus from japan that does transform by itself & with the trailer. It was made especially for this toy. This toy transforms pretty easily. It changes from convoy to battle station to robot. It stands about 13in tall in robot form. It is a great toy for older children & adults.
