Absolutely marvelous. Blew me away. Not your garden variety comic to be sure. I had heard about through a series of odd encounters with separate persons and after painstaking research and backchecking I somewhat reluctantly decided it was worth taking a peak. Did I ever get a surprise? Yes, yes I did. I recieved it one afternoon and immediately dug in. I had a busy schedule that day, but it all got put on hold. I was engrossed to say the least. I made my way through The Whole Shebang in a matter of less than two days and it is no small volume of work. It does go by fast though. Too fast. When you get done, it feels like you just started until you remember that you have been reading all night. I guess that is an indication of a job well done. I am not a big time graphic novel reader so it should come as no surprise that it ranks near the top of my list, but also since as I am not a big time graphic novel reader, it should be really saying something that I bothered to give it a chance at all. My expectations were low, but after I enjoyed Watchmen so much, I realized that it is a whole genre I have neglected that may have some merit after all. Turns out it does. The story is one of those that starts out more less like you might expect it to after seeing the front cover, which, all in all would have probably been pretty good if it kept going at that pace, but it doesn't. It is one that as the plot thickens, it also deepens opening up into an unprecedented level of confusion of absurdity and confusion. Yeah, it was weird and unnecessarily convoluted, but that is exactly the kind of thing that makes these stories so fun. Sure it would be okay if were not this extreme, but it so much more entertaining that way. Besides we have seen the strict more professional standards and protocol, I myself am more interested in seeing that broken. Scud manages to do that in a fun, interesting, not necessarily tasteful manner, but that is okay because of just how flipping cool it is. You will get your money's worth here folks. I guarantee it.Read full review
