Closest thing to the original GOAT "microsoft trackball explorer 1.0." Has more buttons, and software is easy to program the buttons. But, some buttons don't line up with fingers, and overall shape is too flat. It doesn't curve downward at fingers as much as it should. So hand rests on it instead of wrapping around it. Thumb buttons don't line up well with thumb. Above thumb is 2 buttons: one is too far, the other too close. Because your thumb is on the wheel and no button directly above thumb. Still a high quality product. Ball rolls very smooth.

I've been using a trackball mouse for the past 10 years so I'm pretty used to a trackball. This one is great, very well made and with plenty of options for what I need. I use it on a MacPro and it worked right away. After a easy google search I found the software and installed it but there might of been instructions, but I never read them.

It works great. You can position the mouse pointer very precisely. The buttons work well, are programmable. The wheel is perfect, you can scroll right and left with it, not just up, down. However, it is too high and causes wrist pain. That’s why I put a 20mm thick hard sponge sheet under my wrist as a wrist rest. This makes it perfect for comfortable use.

The Elecom's advantage is the extra buttons and the hand rest. Makes using it comfortable. However the scrolling does not feel as natural as with the others (Kensington Expert / Slimblade). Given enough time though, you will get used to it and your experience will only get better. I was not sure about the Elecom, but now that I have it, I think I would easily buy it again. The Huge attempts to be a modern version of the Microsoft Trackball Explorer with added functionality and I think that it is about just there. The biggest and probably only con of the device is the Elecom Software. It is quite disappointing that I need to buy another app in order for me to use it on my system (MacOS). The Elecom software for Windows seems to work from online reviews I have seen online.

With multiple buttons, easily assigned to your own choice of functions (e.g. combinations of keystrokes such as ALT TAB, or CTRL S, etc.) it really speeds up my work. I can do more things on the trackball / mouse without having to move my hand back and forth to the keyboard as frequently. I highly recommend this trackball. I had some soreness in my knuckles at first, as I got used to using this design.
