After installing the software on several computers (win 7 & 10) and trying several recommended fixes, this adapter will only work on the 2.4 ghz frequency. On 2.4 it works well, but do not buy this to access the 5ghz frequency like I did. You will be terribly disappointed.

I bought this adapter in an effort to increase the network performance of my 802.11 b/g/n wireless adapter and Ethernet 10/100 in my Dell All-In-One computer with USB 2.0 ports. Connected to this computers USB 2.0 ports I was able to obtain reliable 100 Mbps speeds to my ISP but no faster than that due to limits of USB 2.0 connection and my All-In-One. I upgraded an old laptop with a dual USB 3.0 PCMCIA adapter card and hooked up the TP-Link T2-UH to one of its USB 3.0 ports and was able to get the adapter to connect to the laptop at 433Mhz and provide rock solid blazing 190Mbps to the internet thru my Xffinity Comcast connection which is only supposed to provide 150Mbps. Not complaining here. for under $25 it definitely provides the speed desired. It out performs my Netgear A6200 USB AC1200 adapters hands down. Remember your speeds are going to be limited by the performance of your Wireless downstream routers and Gateway to the Internet. I have an ASUS RT-68U AC WIFI router behind a 10/100/1000 Arris TG862G providing my ISP connection and wireless connectivity. The only caution is that once in a while you may need to go into device manager and disable/enable the device if you did not properly eject the USB Device. The drivers don't always load if device not ejected properly. Other than that it is worth $25 to $30 to get speed out of older computers that only have old Ethernet 10/100 or 802.11 b/g/n adapters with the addition of an Express Card USB 3.0 PCMCIA adapter and the TP-Ling Archer T2-UH for under $35.00. A lot cheaper than a new computer to get internet speeds you can enjoy.Read full review
