its ok, best for beginners who have nothing.

pros: helps with aligning fins, easy to use cons: not exact alignment, only can do 3/32 and 1/8 fins, clips not tight enough. base can warp and must be screwed down. there are holes provided for permanent fixturing

  • Top critical review

poor design pooriy suited and ill-fitting materials, a real rip off

The parts do not go together easily, particularly the paper tubes. Some are too tight, some too loose. And the design is poor because glue drips down and glues the sliders to the base. In addition, there were no instructions whatsoever, Overall, it is a very sloppy imprecise jig which created more problems than it solved. The only way it can be fixed is to machine some precision parts and find some manner to prevent glue from dripping down to ruin the jig after its first use, I think they need to provide some cheap plastic sheeting strips which are like masking tape with mild adhesive to protect the base from being rendered useless with dripping glue. I would also recommend they mold some plastic rods which slide together easily!

  • Alignment Jig.....

Great little tool for just about any size rocket requiring correct alignment of fins. Easy to use and it actually works really well. If you are a first time builder this is one of the top most have tools in your building box.

  • Simplifies the process and gives more accuracy!

Even in junior high school science class, I was already and advanced model builder who was not satisfied with putting straight cut balsa fins on a cardboard tube and calling it a rocket. I always carefully rounded the leading edge of the fins, and brought the training edge to a point, and then carefully glued each one to the body, letting the glue dry on each, before stating on the the next. I have no idea why I waited until I was 52, with grandkids in middle school before buying one of these! It speeds up the process, and gives us better alignment. We still have to carefully make a fillet of glue after they dry (to increase stability, aerodynamics, and strength), but we had to do that anyway. I think that picking up rocketry again, was about one of the best things I could have done with ...

  • well recommended

I haven't gotten around to using it yet, but ebay doesn't understand that. so my review is going to be vague. I'm not sure how much longer I have to type so that I can submit the review.
