I had been in rocketry in junior high school, and had the mean machine. Everybody loved it then. Now I have grandkids in high school, middle school and elementary. The two in middle school are really enjoying building the rockets, and right now we are building another Equinox and a Comanche 3 (three stage). They are learning about aerodynamics (as I have never been one to just slap balsa fins on a cardboard tube) and center of gravity. We are all having fun and learning together. Can't wait for them to come back over a couple more times to finish paint and decals, so we can get permits and launch! Won't need permits for the Equinox, but the Comanche 3 should top out around 2200 to 2500 feet, and being near an international airport and hospitals with helicopter life saving ambulatory services, we follow proper procedures. Besides, the permits are free, and having police officers and sheriff deputies in the family, we end up with a large audience and cheering section! Even though the Equinox will only fly between 750 and 1000 feet, standing at 6' 7", it gets a lot of attention!Read full review

This thing is awesome. Easy to build, and over 6 feet tall. I'm going to under power it, with the hope that I get it back.
