The AG-AF100 is a full HD 1080/720 production camera that offers superior video handling, native 1080/24p recording, variable frame rates, professional audio capabilities, and compatibility with SDHC and SDXC media. The AF100 delivers the shallow depth of field and wider field of view of a large imager, with the flexibility and cost advantages of a handheld camcorder. The AF100 is the next-generation, go-to HD camera that costs less, yet delivers so much more than other models in its class. The design of the AF100 s 4/3-inch sensor affords depth of field and field of view similar to that of 35mm movie cameras and also affords the full range of cinematic requisites. Equipped with an interchangeable lens micro 4/3 mount, the AF100 has the ability to use virtually any professional quality lens with the addition of an easily obtainable adapter, from low-cost still camera lenses as well as film-style lenses with fixed focal lengths, prime lenses, and zoom lenses.     Incredibly Capable Production Camera

    I'm very pleased with my AG-AF100, I bought it because it reminded me of a Panasonic camcorder I used to shoot Sports Video with, the ability to fit and use other lenses made it appealing to me. the 1080 High Definition looks fantastic, and of course the more you know about cinematography the more you can utilize what this machine has to offer. I like my AF100 so much that I've ordered another. IF you get one, make sure to acquire the instruction manual AND the AF100 Book, this is absolutely crucial in appreciating this camera and fine tuning it to your taste. The more I read about this camera the more I like it. As of now, I'm looking forward to shooting a Time-Lapse.

    This is NOT a "run n gun camera." But terrific for studio or tripod use.

    As with all advanced cameras there is a fairly steep learning curve with the AF100. But, with some learning and experimentation you can get this camera to provide the look that you're looking for, and have lots of control over the image to achieve both video and cinematic affects. The SDI slot will enable you to record directly off the sensor in pro res---great for final cut users. You can do this with a Ninja II or other video recorder and be able to load your footage in at extremely high quality that is also final cut friends .mov instead of AVCHD. Before owning this I owned a Sony VG900 full frame, interchangeable lens camcorder, but I get far superior results with the Panasonic AF100, and I can say the same for the Panasonic GH3. But, if you use a GH3 I highly recommend a Ninja II: it ...

    Great Digital Cine Camera- Refurbed Demo Unit w/lens- great deal!

    Full control over all aspects of the image, as opposed to standard video camera, plus lens interchangeability. However, I'm going to be reading the manuals for a long time to understand all the components of this puppy, to get maximum utility out of it.

    Workhorse that does everything

    Dayton Access Television uses cameras similar to the AF100 that are used every week by different people and have over 1000 hours of use on them. The AF100 might be a little more fragile using interchangeable lenses, but it can still do everything you need it to do without worrying about problems arising.
