I have owned a small, professional video production company for over 20 years. I mostly record events but have been increasing my corporate client base as well. I own A Canon XA10, XA20, XF100, and now the XA30, and it is my favorite camera for the vast majority of jobs that I do. It has great image quality & I love the 2 new "looks" options in the image effects menu (highlight priority & wide DR). It is also the best low light performer of all 4 camcorders. I actually paid less for this camcorder than any of the other models that I own but that's probably because 4K is becoming more popular & this only records in HD. If you're looking for a great HD camcorder for under 2K, I think the XA30 is the best model out there.
