It doesn't work. It will not load the tape and I am told a repair shop can "look" to see if it can be fixed and see if parts are available. It is not functioning and I need to spend another $130 to have it looked at before even knowing what the parts will cost and if the parts would be available. On the phone repair shop said that sounds like housing would need to be replaced but not sure if they can get parts. Disappointed b/c I went and bought cords since it came without them - which I knew - but the camera does not work.

Great Camera! I primarily use mine for ghost hunting, and this camera definitely fits my needs. Nightshot works good, though, I do wish there was more infrared light. For what it is, it's pretty good, but in no light situations, it's not great. That, however, is a problem that can be overlooked. The only other problem I've found so far, is that according to Geek Squad and others, Mini-DV is obsolete. So finding transfer USB cables can be hassle.
Very nice. My died and I had lots of memories I needed to transfer.

I bought this used unit because the tape compartment of my old camcorder couldn't load the tape in and I need a camcorder to play all my old tapes. Good thing about this camcorder is that it's relatively easy to operate with decent video. The bad thing about it is that there is a rather annoying noise coming out from the tape compartment whenever the tape is in use. But I don't quite hear the noise from the TV when I play the recorded video, so I guess it's okay.
Love the small size. Hoped it would use our old Sony Handycam HC 20 batteries but they don't fit. Still it worked great for our first try.
