If anyone uses a camcorder for more than a vacation and small children, I think you will like this model. After purchasing several "micro" pocket camcorders, i just couldn't take decent video with them. They were in fact too small. I also purchased a Samsung DX205 and a Samsung D372. While both are great camcorders, I found they to were just too lightweight. Causing me to take shaky video. I then found the SXM37U with a best offer. I offered what I thought was way too low and seller accepted my offer. I really wasn't buying it for myself, I thought I could make a few bucks by reselling. I did want to make sure everything functioned properly so, I cleaned it up and charged the battery. Much to my surprise, the shakiness was gone from my videos. Just the weight of the cam, along with the built in image stabilization, made a world of difference. Ureka! I have found the answer. As I farther ran the camera through its paces, I discovered it is in fact a terrific cam. Video S out option connects with my dvd recorder. I can instantly make dvds of the tapes I have recorded, without so much as removing them from the camera! 1000X zoom means I can see in the front door of a home 2 blocks away(NO I did not perv on anyone). The VHS-C format means you can play on any vcr with adaptor. The video/audio jacks hooks up to most tvs for vewing as well. I do think it is time we all got away from the gadget cams of today. Go back in time when camcorders were a little bigger and heavier. You will find that pee wee camera, doesn't take video any better or clearer than the "old school" SMX37. In fact the SMX 37's video is superior to most gadget cams in almost every way. In fact, I am dusting off a 1985 full size VHS camcorder at present. I am also looking for a miniDV format camcorder similar in size and weight to the SMX37. Trust me when I say, Go Back In Time....it WAS better back then! And the always popular "they don't make 'em like this anymore" certainly applies to the SMX37. In closing, I highly recommend the JVC SMX37. If you are cleaning out your closet and run across one of these, buy a new battery and give it a whirl, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. It will make you think twice before buying a pee wee, thinking you have to have one. Before you sell your for nearly nothing on ebay, message me, I'll buy it!Read full review
I bought this product because of its size and ease of use. It's the kind of video camera you can take almost anywhere. Functionality wise, this video camera is very easy to operate, and doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. For the price that I paid for it, I would recomend to anyone who asked me about it. Compared to other items similar to it, it operates as good if not better than most cameras.
Good camera, I got this so I can transfer old tapes to digital. I had lost the original camera years ago. Decided to give this a try. Works great, easy to use, no problems. Fast shipping, good buy.

I like this camcorder for the small size and many features it has to offer. The picture quality is very good, and the stablizer is nice to have. The price was right on E-Bay and I couldn't pass it up. If you buy one, you may want to invest in a longer life battery, as the original may not be enough for any one event.
I bought this particular product, because it is exactly the same as the one I already owned. My old unit quit working. I am familiar with how this one works, and I needed it to use for dubbing my many home videos onto DVD's. Good product, except the battery was old, dead, and not able to charge.
