Great For Digital Video Capturing (AV-DV Converter Praise)
Bare in mind that my 5-Star rating refers to what I have used the ZR100 for; I work in video and film transfer, and I could not more highly recommend this camcorder for use as a video capture device (additional Firewire and RCA AV Cables needed). Its flawless and quality-lossless AV-to-DV converter function serves as a great means for preserving your home movies with the added assurance that you're not messing with trouble-causing external capture devices. I have not used this unit as a video camera/digital camera - but mini-DV format is going on 10 years old, and you should consider this before bashing it in the reviews. It was a great camera when it came out, and for many people, still holds up!

it works!
I bought this to replace our old one, which was the identical model. The durned cassette wouldn't load anymore, it was going to be $84 plus shipping to have it repaired, so we bought this one for $65 instead and it works just swell.
